Many times we wonder\u2026<\/h3>\n

how can we get rid of the dark circles from our eyes<\/strong> that may have been bothering us for many years.<\/p>\n

What, after all, is periocular hyperpigmentation, otherwise known as dark circles, and what causes it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dark circles can exist and be due to hereditary factors<\/strong> but they are also affected by many of our daily habits.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When we have dark circles we must:<\/h4>\n

  • Adopt a proper sleeping position-back<\/strong> with an additional pillow<\/li>\n
  • Do not rub our eyes<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • To use dermatological products<\/strong> of very good quality.<\/li>\n
  • Do not forget the daily make-up remover<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Apply a balanced diet<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • To do our standard blood test<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Avoid excessive and unprotected sun exposure<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Limit smoking and alcohol<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • If swelling in the eye area suddenly appears, consult your doctor for further investigation<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    However, a key factor in the existence of dark circles is the thin skin in the periocular area<\/strong> and the increased concentration of melanin<\/strong>, resulting in the appearance of blood vessels.<\/p>\n

    How can we deal with dark circles?<\/h4>\n

    Because dark circles do not always have a specific cause<\/strong>, the way they are treated is different for each case.<\/p>\n

    In general and in case the dark circles are due to excessive concentration of melanin<\/strong> then we try with various whitening treatments to discolor the area. Peelings offer us a wide range of options<\/strong> so that after some treatments we can see a significant improvement<\/strong> in our problem.<\/p>\n

    An additional treatment we apply is eye mesotherapy.<\/strong> Using a very fine needle, we inject substances<\/strong> such as non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid, various vitamins, peptides, antioxidants, flavonoids, polyphenols and organic silicon in order to hydrate, whiten and activate the collagen in the area.<\/p>\n

    In several cases and where the problem is quite persistent<\/strong> we can combine it with Fractional CO2<\/strong>. The appropriate protocol for each case is chosen by the doctor after receiving the history<\/strong> which in most cases can lead us to choose the most appropriate method.<\/p>\n
